Cave of Archilochus
For our third Friday hike we went to the cave of Archilochus. Archilochus was a classical Greek poet from Paros. We did a lot of rock scaling and climbing which was a bit challenging but the views we're beautiful. I think the pictures do most of the explaining. But it's amazing how clear and blue the water is. We hiked all around this little bay to the very tip and everyone went swimming. Of course when we left we discovered that there was a road we could have walked down instead of climbing rocks and almost falling into the water but that would have just been to easy.

Lefkes
On our first Friday hike we went to the village of Lefkes which is located in the center of the island. In the village the school owns a little house that we call the "Sanctum" where we can escape to when we get to over whelmed with the port city and school. There are rules that we aren't allowed to bring any electronics there and we can't sleep there but otherwise it's our space. I don't actually have any pictures of it but it's a pretty cool place. So on our first hike John, the director of the program, took us there and then we went on this crazy hike and finished with a huge lunch at a wonderful restaurant that over looked the village.
